Dental Crowns

With decades of experience in bridges and crowns, Richard and the Team at Bardon Dental Centre are experts in this area of dentistry.
As the name suggests, a crown is a cap or covering over a tooth, most commonly used when your tooth is cracked or broken, heavily filled or if fillings have been lost.
There are many different types of dental crowns available and your dentist will advise the best option. Depending on the location of the crown and other factors, they may recommend a ceramic or resin crowns and use their expertise and latest technology to match the new crown to the shape and colour of your existing teeth.

Dental Bridges

A dental bridge is used to fill the gap left by a missing or extracted tooth. A ceramic tooth (pontic) is fused between two or more porcelain crowns placed on either side of the missing tooth to hold the new tooth in place.
The anchor teeth are shaped to accommodate the crowns and then a bridge is bonded securely over these teeth.
Your dentist will take an impression of your mouth and then design a ceramic tooth to insert between the two crowned teeth.
The pontic tooth and the crowns on either side are matched to the colour and the shape of your existing teeth, giving you a natural looking and functioning tooth.
